NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Police are asking for help locating a suspect who injured a worker in a failed attempt to rob a Subway/Carvel shop on Sunday.

Police say that at about 6:30pm, they were called to the sandwich/ice cream shop on North Avenue on a report of an attempted armed robbery. When officers arrived, an employee told them that a suspect described as a young, Black male, approximately 5'10" wearing a blue hooded jacket and mask, entered the store, pointed a realistic-looking handgun at her and demanded money.

The worker refused to hand over the money and the suspect then shot her three times in the torso with what turned out to be a BB gun. The suspect then fled on foot.
