Worker's Neck Slashed At New Rochelle Restaurant, Arrest Made

The 38-year-old victim is listed in stable condition, while the 49-year-old suspect tried to flee in a cab, according to police.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A slashing at a downtown restaurant sent a restaurant worker to the hospital. A suspect is in custody, police said.

On Monday, around 9:25 p.m., New Rochelle police were called to a restaurant in the 300 block of North Ave., following a reported stabbing. The victim, a 38-year-old man who worked at the restaurant, was found with a serious laceration across his neck. He was transported to a local hospital and was listed as being in stable condition.

Officers on the scene learned that the suspect had fled in a taxicab. Investigators were soon able to find and arrest the suspect at North Ave. and the Boulevard.

49-year-old Avery L. Bady, of the Bronx, was charged with felony assault and misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon.
