Youth Football League President Accused Of Stealing Funds

Police said he took more than $20,000 from the organization while he was president.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A Hudson Valley man was accused of stealing money from a youth football league. Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino Jr. said that Lawrence Alston, 50, of New Rochelle, was charged Thursday with third-degree grand larceny, a felony.

Prosecutors said Alston stole more than $20,000 from the Key Bank account of the New Rochelle Youth Tackle Football League between Jan. 23 and June 13, a period during which he was president of the organization.

Authorities said the money was taken for his personal use, and the bank notified the league when the funds were overdrawn.
