North Hempstead's Harbor Links Named Best Golf Course in Nassau County (longisland.com) — Harbor Links, the Town of North Hempstead's public golf course in Port Washington, has just been voted the best golf course in Nassau County after a year of major upgrades and new management. Nearly $2 million in improvements, from tech-enabled driving ranges to new restaurants and a renovated clubhouse, are turning this town-owned course into a regional destination for golfers of all ages.
   

2. Muslim residents press North Hempstead board over Blakeman post (longislandpress.com) — North Hempstead residents packed a Town Board meeting to urge officials to condemn Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman's social media post mocking Gov. Kathy Hochul for wearing a hijab. The tense discussion highlighted Muslim residents' concerns about Islamophobia, differing views among board members on signing a condemnation letter, and steps the supervisor says she's taken to address safety worries.
   

3. Town hires firm to defend OK for Sbarro family's plan (newsday.com) — North Hempstead has hired an outside law firm to defend its approval of a controversial mixed-use redevelopment at Inspiration Wharf on Manhasset Bay, now being challenged by local residents. The lawsuit argues the town's environmental review was inadequate and seeks to halt work, overturn approvals, and annul the town's negative environmental declaration on the Sbarro family–backed project.
   

4. Roslyn Harbor unveils America 250 Independence Garden (longislandpress.com) — A new America 250 Independence Garden has opened in nearby Roslyn Harbor, with North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jennifer DeSena joining local officials, first responders, and residents for the dedication. Located near the Greenvale LIRR station, the garden honors 250 years of American independence while celebrating the area's historic estates, natural landscape, and horticultural heritage that many North Hempstead residents also enjoy.
