1 Seriously Injured In 3-Car Rollover Crash In Mattituck: PD
The crash took place on Sound Avenue outside of Harbes Farm on Mother's Day, the Mattituck Fire Department says.

NORTH FORK, NY — One person was seriously injured in a three-car rollover crash in Mattituck on Mother's Day, fire officials said.
According to the Mattituck Fire Department, the crash took place at 6:20 p.m. on Sound Avenue in front of Harbes Farm.
The first firefighters to arrive found that three cars were involved, with one rolled onto its roof; the person in that car was unconscious, with serious injuries, and was removed from the vehicle by the Mattituck Fire Department and the rescue squad, officials said.

Initially, aviation was requested for the person, but that was canceled a short time later due to the severity of the injuries and the person was transported by ground to Peconic Bay Medical Center, fire officials said.
The people in the other two vehicles were not injured and refused medical treatment, fire officials said.

Heavy rescue was at the scene and the crew controlled some fluid spills and assisted the rescue squad, the Mattituck Fire Department said.
Fire police shut down westbound traffic at Aldrich Lane with the assistance of the Riverhead Police Department; eastbound traffic was shut down at Herricks Lane, firefighters said.
The scene was turned over to Southold Police for investigation; the road was closed for a little over two hours, the Mattituck Fire Department said.
