1 Still Missing After Boat Overturns In Long Island Sound
Two people went overboard into the Long Island Sound Friday and one is still missing, police say.

SOUTHOLD, NY — A person is still missing after a boat overturned on the Long Island Sound Friday night.
According to Southold Town Police, the incident took place at 7 p.m. off Route 48 in the area of the Cliffside Resort Condominiums when a 9-foot rowboat with two people aboard overturned in the Sound.
One person swam to shore and the other remains unaccounted for, police said.

Greenport Fire department, Suffolk County aviation, and the United States Coast Guard responded to assist police in the search, police said.
The person who swam to shore was treated for hypothermia by Greenport Fire Department and transported to Eastern Long Island Hospital, police said.

Police are withholding the names of the two involved until the investigation is complete, police said.
