2 Busted In State Liquor Authority Compliance Check On North Fork: Police
The compliance check took place Wednesday, police say.

NORTH FORK, NY — Two clerks were cited during an underage drinking sweep on the North Fork Wednesday, police said.
According to Southold Town police, members of the Southold Town Police Department conducted New York State Liquor Authority compliance checks at various establishments throughout town.
The compliance checks utilized underage individuals who attempted to purchase alcoholic beverages under the direct supervision of police officers, officials said.

During the compliance checks, a clerk at the 7-Eleven located on Main Road in Cutchogue was found to be in violation after allegedly selling an alcoholic beverage to a person under the age of 21, police said. The clerk was charged with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child and issued an appearance ticket, police said.
Additionally, an employee at Greenport Mini Mart, located on Front Street, was found to be in violation after selling an alcoholic beverage to a person under the age of 21; he was also charged with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child and issued an appearance ticket, police said.

"The Southold Town Police Department reminds all businesses licensed to sell alcoholic beverages of their responsibility to verify the age of purchasers and comply with all applicable laws," officials said.
