2 School Buses Involved In Parking Lot Accident: Cops

One of the bus drivers is 87-years-old, police say.

SOUTHOLD, NY — Two school buses collided in an accident at Southold Elementary School Thursday afternoon, police said.

According to Southold Town Police, the crash took place at 3:15 p.m. at the elementary school on Oaklawn Avenue when a bus driven by Thomas O'Brien, 87, of Southold, and a bus driven by Elizabeth Scharadin, 58, of Southold, were involved in a "minor rear end accident in the parking lot of Southold Elementary School," police said.

Southold Fire Department responded and assisted school staff in checking the children on board, police said.

No injuries were reported and children were released to parents at the scene, police said.
