4 Charged With DWI On North Fork In 7 Days: Police
Four people were arrested on North Fork roads and charged with driving while intoxicated, police say.
NORTH FORK, NY — Four people were arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in seven days on the North Fork recently, police said.
- According to Southold Town Police, on December 11 at 4:43 p.m., Mynor De Paz Javier, 27, of Cutchogue, was arrested on Old Sound Avenue and charged with DWI, first offense; driving an unregistered vehicle; refusal to take a breath test; operating a motor vehicle without insurance; two counts of third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle; no headlights; and improper plates.
He was seen driving east on Route 25 without a functioning passenger side headlight and stopped; he failed a roadside field sobriety test, police said. De Paz Javier was placed under arrest and was transported back to Southold Town Police headquarter, where he was processed and held for morning arraignment, police said.

- Also on December 11 at 9:57 p.m., Jehovani Argueta, 33, of Brentwood, was arrested on Main Road in Greenport West and charged with DWI, first offense, and aggravated DWI after being seen failing to maintain his lane and failing standardized field sobriety tests, police said. He was arrested and transported to Southold Town Police headquarters for processing and held pending arraignment, police said.
- On December 7 at 6:10 p.m., Byron Mendez Mendez was arrested on Route 48 in Peconic and charged with DWI, first offense; operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08 of 1 percent, first offense; drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway; speeding in excess of 55 miles per hour; and improper license, Southold Town Police said

Mendez Mendez was stopped for exceeding the posted speed limit and was found to be intoxicated, placed under arrest and transported to Southold Police headquarters to be processed and held overnight to await arraignment in Southold Town Justice court, police said.
- On December 4 at 1:02 a.m., Angel Colon, 50, of Greenport East, was arrested on Route 25 in Greenport and charged with felony DWI, previous conviction within 10 years; operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08 of 1 percent, prior; moving from lane unsafely; drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway; and violation of conditional license, Southold Town Police said.
Colon was driving a 1998 Jeep Wrangler east on Route 25 in the area of Manhasset Avenue when an officer saw him veer outside of his lane into the oncoming lane and conducted a traffic stop, police said. Colon was arrested, processed at police headquarters, and held for arraignment, police said.
