NORTH FORK, NY — With the 5th Annual Southold Winterfest set to unfold soon, new entertainment and activities have been unveiled.

Hosted by the Southold Town Economic Development Committee, the event will take place on February 21 on Main Road in Southold from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. — a rain date has been scheduled for February 22.

"This favorite 'Norman Rockwellesque' tradition will showcase the Southold community, while supporting local businesses and organizations," organizers said.

More than 60 vendors, as well as businesses, restaurants, special events, and a slate of five bands will attract more than 2,500 visitors to Southold — the event offers free admission and free parking.

In addition to the music, beverage tastings, entertainment and fun activities for adults and children, Southold WinterFest has recently announced its special events lineup, including:

  • Professional master of ceremonies Stilt Walker
  • All-day DJ music across from Feather Hill village
  • Face painting in the municipal parking area
  • A snow globe at the village green
  • The PicNick Entertainment obstacle course trailer on Main Road
  • Uncle Tony's Reptiles Show in the basement of Southold Library
  • Live apple ice, ice carvings in the town annex parking area
  • Snow machine / snowball fights and paper airplane crafting at the Southold Historic Museum
  • Lady T line dancing, sand art, baked potato bar, smores and fire pits at the First Presbyterian Church
  • A mini show from the actors of the musical "1776" at the North Fork Theatre, along Main Road and the Village Green.
  • The Wantagh American Legion Pipe Band playing and parading in full regalia along Main Road
  • Pony rides for children from The Little Red Barn on the Town Annex Lawn along Youngs Ave.

The goal of the EDC is to advance initiatives that support economic growth within the Town of Southold as outlined in the town’s comprehensive plan “Southold 2020.”
