82-Year-Old On 3-Wheeled Tricycle Struck By Vehicle In Mattituck: PD
He sustained serious injuries, police say.

MATTITUCK, NY — An 82-year-old man, who was riding on an adult, three- wheeled tricycle, was struck by a car in Mattituck Tuesday, police said.
According to Southold Town Police Chief Martin Flatley, the incident took place at 4:41 p.m. on Route 25 in front of the Mattituck-Laurel Library. The man was struck by an 85-year-old driver, he said.
The cyclist sustained serious physical injuries and is currently at South Shore University Hospital being treated; he was not airlifted because he was not stable enough to fly and was initially transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center by ambulance, he said.

Currently, there is no criminality in regard to the incident and no charges have been filed, Flatley said.
