LONG ISLAND, NY — A frost advisory is in effect across Suffolk County until 8 a.m. Monday morning, the National Weather Service said.
And, the NWS added, a freeze warning remains in effect from midnight until 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.
For the frost advisory, temperatures as low as 33 degrees will result in frost formation; the NWS said.
For the freeze warning, sub-freezing temperatures of as low as 27 degrees are expected, the NWS said.
Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation, the NWS said. Sensitive outdoor plans could be killed if left uncovered; steps should be taken to protect tender plants from the cold, the NWS said.
In Nassau County, a freeze watch has been lifted, but temperatures could hover around 34 degrees, the NWS said.
