HAMPTON BAYS, NY — Police have identified the body of a man found in Tiana Bay in Hampton Bays Sunday as David Stetler, 38, of Greenport, officials said.
No criminality is suspected at this time, Southampton Town police said..
According to Southampton Town police, about about 2:45 p.m., a resident reported that they'd found what appeared to be a body in the water in Tiana Bay in Hampton Bays.
Southampton Town police marine units, patrol units, community response units and detectives responded to the area and located a deceased male in the water, police said.
Southampton Town police detectives are continuing the investigation and request anyone with information about the case to call 631-702-2230 or 631-728-3400.
