CUTCHOGUE, NY — A sizzlingly delicious and beloved summer tradition is back as the 69th Annual Cutchogue Fire Department Chicken Barbecue returns to its normal spot under the tent this summer.
The barbecue, which draws a huge crowd of hungry supporters every year, will be held on Saturday, August 22 from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

After the completion of a new firehouse, unveiled this year, the 69th Annual Chicken Barbecue will be held under the tent and in its traditional format back home on firehouse grounds, located at 260 New Suffolk Road in Cutchogue.
"The summer tradition returns," the Cutchogue Fire Department said.
The event has been a North Fork tradition for generations, with tickets selling quickly.
The night will be filled with music, laughter, and some of the best chicken found anywhere, bar none.
The Cutchogue Fire Department's chicken is so good, in fact, that Martha Stewart raved about it after attending in 1997 — and guests have said for years that it's the best they've ever tasted.
This year, the original video made for the Cutchogue Fire Departments Annual Barbecue is once again available.
"If you would like to know how this event was formed and the men and women who made it possible, you can now take home a first edition copy with you," the fire department said. "See what it takes to organize and prepare the food for over 3,000 dinners with interviews of members of the Fire Company and Ladies Auxiliary who actually started the BBQ."
The video was made by fire department members and videographer Paul Jablonski with the assistance of his wife and crew, officials said.
"Paul collected all the photos and videos we had from previous years and spent many hours of his time filming current barbecues and interviewing life long members who made it possible."
The 90-minute video costs $20 and is available at the event.
