NORTH FORK, NY — Three people, including a 5-year-old and both drivers, were taken to the hospital after a crash involving a school bus in Southold Wednesday afternoon, police said.
According to Southold Town police, the crash took place at 3:20 p.m. at the intersection of Main Road and Main Bayview Road.
Both police and the Southold Fire Department responded after reports of a motor vehicle collision involving a school bus and a passenger vehicle, police said.
Both drivers — a 61-year-old man from Amagansett and a man, 25, from Deer Park — and the 5-year-old bus passenger were transported by the Southold and Cutchogue Fire Departments to Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital for evaluation of minor injuries, police said.
Six additional bus passengers were evaluated at the scene by emergency medical technicians and determined to be uninjured, police said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, police said.
