Animal Shelter In Desperate Need Of Blankets, Towels

NORTH FORK, NY — Homeless dogs and cats are in desperate need of some warm blankets and towels.

According to Gabrielle Stroup, director of operations at The League — formerly known as the North Fork Animal Welfare League — "urgent help" is needed.

The League's Aquebogue shelter, located at 324 Church Lane, has run out of blankets, towels and sheets, she said.

"Please help. We need to keep our animals warm and comfortable," Stroup said. "Your donation of any extra linens will help us keep them warm and comfortable until we find them homes."

The shelter can also use dry and canned cat and dog food, toys, leashes, and collars, Stroup said.

Donations can also be dropped off at the Peconic facility, located at 269 Peconic Lane in Peconic.
