Animal Shelter Needs Help Digging Out After Snow

A snow blower would be helpful, North Fork Animal Welfare staffers say.

PECONIC, NY — Four-footed friends at the North Fork Animal Welfare League in Peconic rode out Thursday's storm all warm and dry, but on Friday, staffers say volunteers are needed to help dig out the facility.

"We will need help digging out the kennels and out side pens tomorrow," the NFAWL said on Facebook. "If you have a shovel we can use your help."

Volunteers can come whenever they have time, but the shoveling began at 8 a.m. and will continue until the job is done.
