~ April 1st is April Fools' Day ~

Rumors have it that April Fools' Day dates back to 1582 when France switched from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar and some people continued to celebrate the new year in the last week of March or early April becoming the target of jokes and hoaxes. There are othere who say it originated in Ancient Rome as the festival of Hilaria which marked the beginning of the spring with games and mockery or that it relates to the Roman god Ceres being fooled by Pluto in early April. April Fools’ Day celebrated on April 1 each year has been celebrated for several centuries by different cultures. Traditions of April Fools’ Day include playing practical jokes on others or hoaxes where “April Fo ols!” is yelled at the end to clue-in-the-subject of the April Fools’ Day prank.
