Barn Fire Breaks Out At Southold Nursery: Police
No injuries were reported, officials say.

NORTH FORK, NY — A barn fire broke out at a nursery in Southold Sunday night, police said.
According to Southold Town police, the structure fire broke out at about 8:33 p.m. near Ackerly Pond Lane and Route 48, at Cifarelli's Nursery.
Responding officers located a fully involved barn fire at Cifarelli's Nursery that had spread to adjacent structures, police said.

The Southold and Cutchogue Fire Departments responded and extinguished the fire, police said.
Southold Town Police detectives and the Suffolk County arson aquad responded to investigate the cause and origin of the fire, police said.

The fire is believed to be non-criminal in nature, and the investigation remains ongoing, police said.
.The Cutchogue Fire Department, which provided mutual aid, was requested to assist at the scene with a rapid intervention team, in the event of any firefighter emergencies, the CFD said.
Southold firefighters arrived on scene and began attempting to knock down the fire using available tank water and water supplied from a nearby hydrant, the CFD said.
The fire quickly spread to two nearby structures and began to threaten another large barn and house on the property, the CFD said.
Once the water supply was established, firefighters deployed several additional handlines and master stream from Southold's ladder 841 to fight the fire, officials said.
Once the fires were knocked down, Cutchogue firefighters assisted in the overhaul of the buildings to ensure that the fire was fully extinguished and there were no additional hotspots, officials said.
The Greenport Fire Department also provided stand-by coverage at the Southold firehouse in the event of any other alarms, the CFD said.
Firefighters were at the scene for more than two hours, officials said.
There were no injuries reported, officials said.
