Boat Sinks After Fire In Sag Harbor: Police

SAG HARBOR, NY — Billowing smoke from a massive boat fire in Sag Harbor was seen for miles Sunday.

According to Sag Harbor Village Police Chief A.J. McGuire, a boat off of North Haven caught fire at about 2:20 p.m.

There was one person onboard; she jumped overboard and was rescued, McGuire said.

The Sag Harbor Fire Department extinguished the blaze, but the boat sank, he added.
