~ Book A Date... The August 2023 Perseid Meteor Shower...

Warm August nights have sky watchers tuned-in to the popular Perseids ~ a popular meteor shower which will peak Sunday, August 13 {2023}. Meteors seem to derive from the constellation Perseus.

I found it confusing that she had Monday, August 13 as the date The Perseids meteor shower "peaks" as SUNDAY IS AUGUST 13, 2023 -{ !!!}- { By the way... As my mom told me: "If no one makes you shine ~ DO-IT-YOURSELF -( !!! ) -" My birthday is August 12 - ( !!! )- }
At 8 pm Saturday, August 12 {2023} Southold's Custer Institute -{&}- Observatory will celebrate with a multimedia performance by Axolotl Ensemble of an electronic music event called “Comets, Meteors and Things That Fly By Us.” According to an email from observatory president Anne Spooner, “Artists Cliff Baldwin and Rob Shepperson will perform works composed and designed specifically for this event, that reveal the unique sound of the Perseid meteors, icy asteroids and other such celestial visitors past and present using live electronics, amplified satellite dishes, percussion, live celestial video and other treats.”
Guests will have a chance to view The Perseid meteor shower visible to the naked eye. Guided tours of the night sky {weather permitting} will be provided by Observatory staff "using the many telescopes on site, including the apochromatic Zerochromat telescope in Custer Institute’s historic observation dome. The event costs $20 for observatory members, $30 for nonmembers and is free for children younger than 16. Attendance will be limited so advance registration is strongly encouraged.
