Founded in 1944, the Oysterponds Historical Society (OHS) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that celebrates the history and culture of the North Fork hamlets of Orient and East Marion.

Today, OHS maintains seven historically-significant buildings located in the heart of Orient, New York’s landmark historic district; cares for 8½ acres of grounds, including Poquatuck Park, a cherished community gathering spot; and actively manages a collection of over 60,000 items, including historic artifacts, documents, diaries, works of art, and archival objects dating from early Native American times all the way through the 20th century.

Three of OHS's historic buildings on Village Lane in Orient are open to the public on a regular basis during the summer months.

Brand-new exhibitions in the Old Point Schoolhouse and Village House open to the public on Sat., May 28th @ 11am.

A permanent Maritime Exhibition in Webb House opens on Sat., July 2nd @ 2pm. Hours for are Saturdays and Sundays 2pm - 5pm.

Admission is FREE for OHS members and $10 for non-member adults, which grants same-day access to all OHS buildings & exhibitions.
