After the ReWild / NoFo chapter meeting, we’ll have a special program from 3:00–4:30 PM titled “The Long and Short of Lawns.” The event will take place at Downs Farm Preserve and is presented in collaboration with Group for the East End. The talk will be led by Corn Schmid, who will explore the cultural, ecological, and practical aspects of lawns—one of the most widespread yet natural-resource-intensive landscape choices in the United States. The program includes a lecture and guided garden walk and will address lawn care, environmental impacts, and regionally appropriate alternatives.
