North Fork Contemporary, in partnership with Colorful Gardens, will present “Growing America: Art in a Hothouse”, a stunning presentation of art and nature showcasing sculptures by 16 artists amid the flora at the nursery center located at 1636 Main Road (Route 25), Jamesport, NY. The exhibition is an exploration of the American identity, both homegrown and nationwide. The show is also a farewell gift to the North Fork community as Colorful Gardens prepares to close its doors. Owned by Michele DeVito, the nursery has been serving local gardeners for more than 30 years.
The exhibit will have a preview on Friday, September 18 from 5 – 7 p.m. The opening reception for “Growing America: Art in a Hothouse” will be Saturday, September 19 from 5–7 p.m. The exhibit will be open for viewing on Saturday, Sept. 26 and Saturday, Oct. 3 between the hours of 12 and 4 p.m.
