Services: Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 31 at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 53100 Main Road (NYS Route 25), Southold, New York 11971. Reverend Dr. Peter J. Kelley will officiate.

Visitation: The family will receive friends on Friday, January 30 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Homes, Inc., 51400 Main Road (NYS Route 25), Southold, New York 11971.

Obituary: Carol Kirkpatrick Spooner of Peconic Landing in Greenport and formerly of Southampton died on January 25, 2015. She was 91 years old.

Carol had been a Physical Education Teacher with the Shelter Island Public School and was the wife of Retired Southampton Village Mayor Richard S. Spooner.
