UPDATE: Coast Guard Suspends Search For Missing Paraglider
Officials say they have been no reports of a missing person and no signs of distress in the area.

Update (Monday 3 p.m.):
The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended its search for the missing paraglider as of Monday afternoon.
The Coast Guard along with several local agencies searched for the paraglider who went missing by Robins Island for more than 16 hours.

There were no reports of a missing person and no other signs of distress in the area, the Coast Guard said.

Coast Guard crews are searching for a paraglider who went missing near Robins Island in Southold on Sunday afternoon.
The Coast Guard was notified by Southampton Dispatch of a missing paraglider at 5:45 p.m., shortly after the paraglider was last seen at 5:30 p.m., according to the Coast Guard.
The Shinnecock station launched a 25-foot Response Boat Small crew to search the Peconic Bay.
In addition, the Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod launched a helicopter crew to assist the search by air.
North Sea Fire Department, Southampton Bay Constables, and Suffolk Police Department Aviation are also involved in searching for the missing person.
“It’s always important, when your going out on the water, to make sure you let a family member or friend know what your plan is,” Petty Officer 1st Class Jason Rodocker, command duty officer at Sector Long Island Sound command center, said. “Having someone on land that knows where you were going and a time frame for your outing is very helpful for first responders.”
