Dad Charged With Violating Suffolk County Social Host Law: Police
BREAKING: More than 50 kids were found at a house, many drinking, at a house party in Mattituck, police say.

MATTITUCK, NY — A Mattituck man was charged with violating the Suffolk County Social Host Law after a house party with more than 50 underage young people, many of whom were drinking alcohol, police say.
According to Southold Town Police, Pedro Diaz, 49, was arrested on Saturday at 10:43 p.m. at a home on Factory Avenue and charged with violating the Suffolk County Social Host Law, a misdemeanor.
Southold Police responded to investigate a call of underage drinking at the residence and arrived to find approximately 50 young people congregating at the residence; authorities observed many of them drinking alcohol, police said.

Diaz, the home owner and father of the youth hosting the party, was home at the time police arrived, police said.
Diaz failed to take corrective action in attempting to stop the consumption of alcohol by minors and was arrested; he was transported to Southold police headquarters, processed and released on cash bail, police said.
