Greetings from Southold NY Mr. Radcliffe!

What indeed a pleasure it is to reach you! I must say how honored I am to get in touch with you, not to overstay my welcome of course. You see, I am a theater major who was awarded a B.A. in Speech and Dramatic Arts from Iona College and then subsequently I attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

You being the outstanding actor that you are added true self-esteem to your Harry Potter character. A big bravo goes out to you for that journey you took doing that role and bringing it to life to the screen for the world to widely and wholeheartedly see just how you completely achieved it.

I have the Matthew Broderick How to Succeed … cast-signed playbill c/o Frank Hartenstein and he also arranged to obtain John Stamos’ autograph on a How to Succeed … playbill. I did end up seeing your quite sensational performance at a matinee of How to Succeed and WOW!, you did some spectacular job! I auditioned for the Mattituck North Fork Community Theatre’s How to Succeed production coincidentally as your production was running on Broadway at the same time. I sang Anything Goes and Brotherhood of Man and got in! But I had to withdraw with work schedule conflict. I at least found out I could still belt out songs like I did at our two Alice Tully Hall Iona College Vocal Ensemble concerts. I actually stood right on the top step of the bleachers at those concerts! ~ Now I attire myself with a bow tie and I think of your J. Pierrepont Finch.

I began my theater collection in 1974 to boost my own endeavors! The first replies came from Lynn Redgrave during My Fat Friend and then I heard from The Wiz stage manager, Charles Blackwell, with a full-cast signed playbill and a full cast-signed souvenir book. I also collect miniature owls!

I have been an Actors Fund member since Eva LeGallienne let me know about the organization.

When I was in college, among the many characters I got to be was Frank Strang in Equus. When Robert Morse was in So Long, 174th Street, he signed my How to Succeed… playbill backstage.

As a Southold NY resident since 1988, I have been a member of the Mattituck-based North Fork Community Theatre. I have also worked with Broadway's Cabaret Tony Award winner Peg Murray with her Greenport NY Northeast Stage theater group. Some of the favorite roles I performed were as Fagin in Oliver!, Sam Weinberg in A Few Good Men, the Common Man in A Man for All Seasons, as well as the lead chorus bass singer in Sweeney Todd (where the chorus sang!)

I have been in touch with Dame Maggie Smith, who graciously exchanged signed playbills for my collection from Night and Day, plus Lettice and Lovage. As a matter of fact, I happened to have been the producer of the 1998 North Fork Community Theatre production of Lettice and Lovage, and at that particular time, it had been the highest-grossing NFCT production up til that time.

The Southold Historical Society is holding A Day of Harry Potter at the Horton Point Lighthouse on Saturday, July 16. Author Jody Revenson, who has written extensively about the Harry Potter films, will lead participants in games and activities. One is Hogwarts-style family activities.
