Death Of Man Found Injured In Suffolk Apartment Ruled Homicide: PD

He died Monday after being found Friday at the Greenport apartment, police say.

GREENPORT, NY — The death Monday of a man who was found seriously injured in a Greenport apartment Friday has been ruled a homicide, police said.

Suffolk County police said no further information is available.

Suffolk County homicide detectives are investigating the incident, which took place at the Lakeside Garden Apartments on North Street.

Modesto Salguero-Guillen, 48, of Greenport, was found seriously injured Friday and taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, where he died Monday at 8 a.m., police said.

Southold Town Police Chief Martin Flatley said he was originally transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead because of the nature of his injuries; PBMC made the decision to move him to South Shore for medical reasons, Flatley said.
