Throughout the year, the Auxiliary fuels its fundraising success through a series of events, including the Dream Green Extravaganza, the Car/Cash Giveaway, Ladies Day on the Links, the Italian Night Dinner, and more.
Members also dedicate time to two community retail spaces, the ELIH Auxiliary Opportunity Shop at 321 Main Street in Greenport Village and the hospital’s on-site gift shop, hospital officials said.
Since its founding in 1905, the Auxiliary has contributed more than $21 million to support hospital initiatives, surpassing other hospital auxiliaries across New York State in total funds raised, officials said.
Those funds have helped to secure essential equipment and enhancements, including a new ventilator, upgrades to medical/surgical beds, refreshed furnishings in staff and physicians’ lounges, and support for key operational needs, officials said.
Also, hospital representatives said, investments strengthen the programs and services SBELIH provides, ensuring patients across the North Fork and Shelter Island continue to receive high-quality care close to home.
Helene V. Fall, president of the ELIH Auxiliary, reflected on the group’s ongoing commitment to the hospital.
"2025 was a significant year for the Eastern Long Island Hospital Auxiliary," she said. "We celebrated 120 years of devotion to our hospital and our community. We are thrilled that our 2025 donation was another record breaker."
