Driver Charged With DWI After Crashing Into Utility Pole: Police
He was transported to Eastern Long Island Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police say.

SOUTHOLD, NY — A Southold driver was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with driving while intoxicated after he crashed into a utility pole, police said.
According to Southold Town police, the single-vehicle crash took place at 4:34 p.m. at the intersection of Hortons Lane and County Road 48 when Jonathan J. Ardiano, 19, who was driving a black 2013 Honda Accord , hit the pole.
Ardiano was found to be intoxicated and was placed in police custody; he was transported to Eastern Long Island Hospital for minor injuries, treated, and released, police said.

Ardiano was then arrested, charged with DWI, first offense, as well as having alcohol/cannabis in a motor vehicle on a motor vehicle on a highway, and held at Southold Police headquarters to await arraignment, police said.
