Driver Flees Crash After Greenport Police Pursuit
The search is still on for the driver who crashed into parked cars before fleeing, police say.
GREENPORT, NY — A driver fled the scene of a crash after a pursuit in Greenport, police said. According to the Southold Town Police Department, the crash happened Monday at 9:33 p.m. on Madison Avenue.
Officers attempted to stop the driver of a black Infiniti in the parking lot of the Layyah convenience store for a vehicle and traffic violation but the driver kept going, police said. After a short pursuit, the driver crashed into parked vehicles and fled the scene, police said.
Responding officers were not able to locate the driver or vehicle, police said.
