Drunk Driver Arrested After Crashing, Flipping Car: Cops

He hit another car before flipping his own vehicle, police say.

GREENPORT, NY — A drunk driver was arrested after he crashed into a car and then flipped his own vehicle in Greenport, police said.

According to Southold Town Police, the incident took place Monday at 10:41 p.m. when a driver, Andres Garcia Moran, 25, of Greenport, struck a car on 5th Ave. and West Street.

His vehicle then flipped; Garcia was found to be intoxicated, police said. He was arrested, charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and transported to Eastern Long Island Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries, police said.

He was then transported to police headquarters, processed, and held for arraignment, police said. Justice Brian Hughes set bail at $200 cash or $400 bond at the arraignment.
