Drunk Driver Crashes Into Fire Hydrant: Police
He was reportedly revving his engine at the location before he was arrested, police say.

MATTITUCK, NY — A drunk driver was arrested and charged after he crashed into a fire hydrant in Mattituck, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, Alex P. Endres, 21, of Mattituck was arrested at Feb. 17 at 3:19 a.m. on Reeve Ave.
Authorities received an anonymous report of a vehicle revving its engine near the location, police said. An officer responded to find a black Ford pickup, with Endres driving, that had crashed into the fire hydrant, police said.

Further investigation revealed Endres to be intoxicated; he failed standardized field sobriety tests administered at the scene, police said.
Endres was arrested and transported to Southold Town Police headquarters for processing, police said.
