Drunk Driver Found Asleep At Wheel, Obstructing Traffic: Cops
His vehicle was seized, police say.
SOUTHOLD, NY — A Southold man was arrested after he was found asleep in his vehicle and blocking the road while intoxicated, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, Christopher Durandetto, 32, was arrested on April 24 at 8:13 p.m. on Youngs Avenue in Southold and charged with driving while intoxicated, previous conviction within 10 years, a felony, and operating a motor vehicle with BAC. 08 of 15, prior, police said.
Officers observed a 2012 Chevy Silverado parked in the road obstructing vehicular traffic on Youngs Avenue in Southold, police said. Upon approaching the vehicle, officers found that the driver, Durandetto, was asleep behind the wheel, police said. Durandetto was also determined to be intoxicated, police said.

Durandetto was arrested and transported to Southold Town Police headquarters where he was processed and held to await morning arraignment, police said.
Durandetto's vehicle was impounded and towed, as per Suffolk County's seizure law, police said.
