Drunk Driver Found Sleeping In Running Car On North Fork: Cops

He had a revoked license for a prior DWI conviction, police say.

CUTCHOGUE, NY — A Greenport man was arrested after he was found intoxicated and asleep inside a running car, police said.

According to Southold Town Police, the incident took place on Sunday at 7:13 a.m. on Route 48 in Cutchogue when Nelson Coreas-Fuentes, 26, was arrested; he was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated: per se 1 prior; DWI, previous conviction in 10 years; operating a motor vehicle without a license; drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway; third degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle; first degree aggravated unlicensed operation; and use other vehicle without an interlock device, police said.

Coreas-Fuentes was found sleeping in his vehicle on the side of the road with the vehicle running; he was found to be intoxicated and was placed under arrest, police said.

Coreas-Fuentes had a prior DWI arrest and his vehicle was seized per Suffolk County law; he also had a revoked license from the prior arrest and DWI charge, police said.

He was transported to headquarters, processed, and held to await arraignment, police said.
