Drunk Driver Nabbed In Greenport: Cops

The vehicle was seen crossing over the solid white line several times, police say.

GREENPORT, NY — A Greenport driver was charged with driving drunk after being seen crossing over the solid white line several times, police said.

According to Southold Town Police, the incident took place Friday at 3:06 a.m. on Route 25 in Greenport. Germa Machado-Mazariegos, 23, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, first offense; refusal to take a breath test; and moving from lane unsafely, police said.

Machado-Mazariegos was driving a 2007 Jeep eastbound on Route 25 and was observed failing to maintain his lane of travel by crossing over the solid white line several times, police said.

He was stopped, found to be intoxicated, arrested, and transported to Southold Town Police headquarters where he was processed and held awaiting arraignment, police said.
