Elderly Man Shoveling Snow Falls Into Pool, Drowns: Police
He fell into the swimming pool while shoveling snow on Saturday morning, police say.
CUTCHOGUE, NY — An elderly man shoveling snow fell into a swimming pool and drowned during the storm Saturday morning, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, the incident took place at 8:30 a.m. in Cutchogue. Officers pulled the unconscious man from the pool and began CPR with the assistance of Cutchogue Fire Department Rescue personnel, police said.
The Cutchogue Fire Department transported the man to Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased, police said.
