Fire Breaks Out On Dock At Claudio's Clam Bar: Police
The building was not damaged and the fire was put out quickly, police say.
GREENPORT, NY — A fire broke out on the dock at Claudio's Clam Bar in Greenport Monday, officials said.
Southold Town Police said a call came in at 5:09 a.m. for an active fire at 511 Main Street. The Greenport Fire Department extinguished the flames quickly, police said.
Greenport Fire Department officials told Patch that the fire, which was not large, did not damage the building. The Greenport Fire Department chief investigated and determined that a lit cigarette was the cause of the fire, police said.
