Fire Breaks Out At New Senor Taco Location In Southold

The fire broke out on what was only the eatery's second weekend open after taking over the former O'Mally's space.

SOUTHOLD, NY — A fire broke out Saturday night at the new location of Senor Taco Mexican Grill in Southold, on what was the restaurant's second weekend after opening.

According to fire officials at the scene, the fire broke out just after 9 p.m. in the foyer; the restaurant had reportedly been open for business at the time. The fire was extinguished quickly, and no injuries or major damage were reported, officials said.

The Southold Fire Department and Cutchogue Fire Departments were at the scene; the Greenport Fire Department was standing by at the Southold firehouse.

Senor Taco confirmed the news that the business would be transforming the space in December; Senor Taco also has locations in Wading River, Mt. Sinai, and Holbrook.

A social media post last Saturday indicated that the new location was open in Southold and serving up its full menu of starters, soups, salads, tacos, burritos, entrees, "mextras," and more.

O'Mally's closed its doors after decades in December.
