Newsday had a story Wednesday morning, August 30, 2023: {putting it in my own words} "The Fire Island lighthouse tower is the 168-foot landmark {that was} temporarily closed due to spring storm damage -[ & }- is scheduled to reopen Wednesday, August 30, 2023."
