Firefighters Respond To Fire At Potato Barn In Mattituck
Firefighters from the Mattituck and Cutchogue Fire Departments responded to the fire on Wickham Avenue on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m.

Firefighters responded to a structure fire on Wickham Avenue in Mattituck on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 12:30 p.m. according to the Cutchogue Fire Department website.
Mattituck Fire Department Firefighters arrived at the scene to find a fire at a potato barn used by a local farmer. Cutchogue Firefighters were called to assist.
The fire was quickly located and extinguished by the Mattituck Fire Department who confinded it to a small area of the wall and ceiling.

The Cutchogue Fire Department was requested to assist at the scene with a Rapid Intervention Team in the event of any firefighter emergencies. The crew made the response aboard Heavy Rescue truck 8-5-5.
Once on scene Cutchogue firefighters stood by for 30 minutes, until the fire was knocked down and units were able to be released from the scene.
