Five People Rescued From Long Island Sound
Boat took on water on Thursday night, police say.

Five people were rescued after their boat took on water on the Long Island Sound off of Cutchogue on Thursday night, according to Southold Town Police.
Southold Bay Constable Johm Kirincic along with police officers William Brewer and John Crosser responded to a call about three-quarters of a mile off of Duck Pond Point shortly before 8:15 p.m., police said.
Upon arrival, Sea Tow had the boat in tow with the five people onboard identified as Roque Quintanilla, 34, of Centereach; Erick Hernandez, 21, of Port Jefferson; Rudy Hernandez, 22, of Port Jefferson; Celio Orteg, 35, of Port Jefferson; and Osmond Hernandez, 28, of Port Jefferson.

Police took the five people aboard the police vessel and brought them to Mattituck Inlet boat ramp, police said.
The people were not injured and required no medical attention, according to police.

Sea Tow brought the vessel to the same location where owner loaded it onto his trailer.
