Greenport 1 Of Top 23 Spots For 'Cheap Summer Travel': Forbes

GREENPORT, NY — It's what locals have known all along — Greenport is a magical treasure, a place where summer comes alive with Dances in the Park, shops, and some of the best dining, well, anywhere.

And now, Forbes has named Greenport one of the top 23 places to go in 2018 for "cheap summer travel."

According to the post, Greenport was chosen by Sara Bliss, who said, "The most vibrant spot on the North Fork right now is the coastal town of Greenport," known for its "rising foodie scene."

Given the nod in the piece are eateries including Noah's, American Beech, Claudio's, and Crabby Jerry's, as well as shops including Beall & Bell and, of course, the glorious Greenport carousel.

Greenport is listed among other summer destinations including Virginia Beach, Whitefish, Montana, Traverse City, Michigan, and Boise, Idaho.
