Fred Savage, Shailene Woodley Film Showtime Series On Long Island

GREENPORT, NY — Two well-known actors spent the day in Greenport Tuesday filming the upcoming Showtime series "Three Women."

Fred Savage spent time filming a scene with Shailene Woodley at the Blue Duck Bakery Cafe.

Co-owner Nancy Kouris said she spoke with "The Wonder Years" actor at great length; he told her he had a "small part" in the series.

Savage, she said, had a penchant for one of her most popular pastries — rugelach, a flaky pastry with sweet filling.

"He must have eaten at least six to seven rugelach for the many scene takes," Kouris said. "I asked if he was ready for some Pepto and he said he could eat them all day. Now that's an endorsement!"

The bakery was also used for filming in February.

According to Variety, "Three Women" is based on the nonfiction book of the same name by Lisa Taddeo.

"It is described as a portrayal of American female desire, in which three women are on a crash course to radically overturn their lives," the post said.

Also starring in the series are Gabrielle Creevy, DeWanda Wise and Betty Gilpin, Dateline reported.

The hour-long series is executive produced by Taddeo, Laura Eason, Kathy Ciric and Emmy Rossum; Louise Friedberg has signed on to direct the first two episodes, which she will also executive produce, Dateline added.
