Friends Rally To Help Local Dad Fight Cancer Battle

SOUTHOLD, NY — During life's darkest moments, the support of friends can mean everything.

And now friends are rallying to help a dad facing a war with cancer. A GoFundMe, "Please Help Jim Davis," was created by James Davis' Angels. To donate, click here.

"Jim Davis has been diagnosed with an aggressive stage 4 colon cancer which has now spread to his liver," the page said. "He's preparing to undergo chemotherapy and battle for his life."

Davis, the page said, has two children Brett and Haylee, and has been an artist and craftsman at HB Millwork, Inc for more than 30 years.

"Those close to Jim know how much of a stand up guy he is and cannot fathom how something like this could happen to such a kind-hearted person," friends said.

Davis, they added, is a quiet, thoughtful man who enjoys fishing and his family.

Donations will be used to offset any medical costs and living expenses during the coming months.
