Fugitive Accused Of Sexual Assault Nabbed On North Fork: Police

The man was wanted on a warrant out of Illinois for 2 counts of criminal sexual assault on a victim unable to give knowing consent: police

NORTH FORK, NY — A fugitive wanted on an arrest warrant out of Illinois related to sexual abuse accusations was nabbed in Southold recently, police said.

According to Southold Town police, on July 21 at 11:15 p.m., patrol units and detectives assisted the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force in arresting Ricardo Lemos on W. Cove Road in Cutchogue on an outstanding arrest warrant out of Kane County, Illinois.

Lemos was wanted for two felony counts of criminal sexual assault on a victim unable to give knowing consent, police said. Lemos was held to await an extradition hearing, police said.
