The cherry blossom bloom spans parts of early May and June, depending on the species of the trees and the weather.
Free maps of where to view the glorious trees will be available at all participating businesses as well as the AgroCouncil information center in the lobby of the Greenporter Hotel.
The event aims to promote village businesses and support village beautification, including BID and committee efforts to light the village for Christmas during winter and place flower boxes throughout Greenport in spring.
Recently, the Greenport Village BID collaborated with the Greenport Village tree committee to plant 13 new cherry blossom trees with the proceeds from last year’s festival.
"The colorful new trees provide a beautiful and safe outdoor space for residents and visitors and supported local businesses throughout the pandemic," a release said.
