Greenport PTO's Annual Craft Fair, Chinese Auction Saturday

GREENPORT, NY — It's time again for the Greenport PTO's Craft Fair and Chinese Auction, with 100 percent of proceeds to benefit the children in the school district.

The annual Craft Fair runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Greenport School grounds; there's also a Chinese auction kicking off at 10 a.m. and prize drawings beginning at 3 p.m.

Kim Swann, president of the PTO, said the fundraiser serves as the main funding source for the PTO's scholarship fund, which has awarded $9,000 over the last three years. "We hope to keep up our current trend of awarding more each year," she said.

Swann said Porters opens their hearts for the kids. "I can't say enough about the generosity of our community. We are fully aware of the burden constant donation requests can put on a small business, and we truly appreciate all that we have been given," she said. "I speak often of the special uniqueness of Greenport, and the prizes we have for our auction are a prime example of what a beautiful community we have."
