Greenport Student Arrested After Threat To 'Shoot Up The School': PD

GREENPORT, NY — A 15-year-old male student at Greenport High School was arrested Friday after he threatened to "shoot up the school", police said.

According to Southold Town police, school resource officers informed them that the student had made the threat; after an investigation by Southold detectives and SROs, the 9th grader was identified as the source and arrested Friday at 4:28 p.m., police said.

He was charged with one count of making a terroristic threat, a felony, and one count of second-degree aggravated harassment, a misdemeanor, police said.

He was slated for arraignment in family court in Riverhead, police said.
